Elder Steven Rogers II
After high school I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was granted the opportunity to travel the world, experience different cultures, and of course deploy to Iraq. My time in Iraq was definitely a life altering experience for the better. In the midst of everything going on in that region and a matter of fact, in the world, I became a Christian repenting of my sins and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins in the Euphrates River. It was an incredible experience that involved M16’s and 240G’s for security and AK47’s ringing out bullets in the distance.
Christian is a word that has lost so much meaning over time because so many people claim to be one, but fail to live up to or even attempt to live up to the standard of one. I was one of those people. However, during my time in Iraq something happened to change my life and desire. This was definitely a work in process experiencing pitfalls and stumbling blocks, but by the Grace of God I was able to press on. I do not claim to be perfect, but I do serve a perfect Lord & Savior who by His never failing love, enduring mercy, and longsuffering continues to give me the chance to grow in holiness.
Elder Rogers is a published author of two books: The Gifts of the Spirit and the Characteristics of Those Who Have them & Genesis: Let There Be Sound Doctrine. He has earned his two B.A's in Theology & Applied Behavioral Science and working to complete his M.A in Marriage & Family Therapy.

SEMPER FI (Always Faithful)! I am a retired Marine, a loving husband and I am doing the best I can to be a good father to my sons (while playing as many practical jokes on them as I can). I am blessed to have the favor of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ raining down on my life - I am down to earth, happy, healthy and enjoy being surrounded by people who love me. Majority of the time you will catch me smiling or laughing at myself (sometimes I trip me out).
I am light hearted and adventurous; I think I qualify to wear the "Been There, Done That" T-shirt (I still haven't walked the Great Wall of China or swam with killer whales, but I am planning to though-for real). I am a huge advocate of exploring new places and enjoying your life in Christ. Yes! God has been good to me, better than I deserve.
